Two common kinds of glass USED FOR SHOWER DOORS AND GLASS HANDRAIL are clear and low iron "STARPHIRE".

Clear glass is not the clearest type of glass you can get; the amount of iron content gives clear glass a greenish tint to it.  Low iron glass is more transparent than regular glass. it doesn’t have the greenish tint due to the reduced amount of iron in its molten glass formula. By modifying the iron content in low iron glass, light transparency can increase about 5 to 6 percent.

low iron "Starphire" glass is available Annealed or tempered -  1/8",3/16",1/4",3/8",and 1/2" thickness
